KHARIF CROPS
PIGEON PEA / ARHAR
Pigeon Pea is one of India’s important pulse crops and a key source of plant protein in food.
It improves soil fertility by fixing atmospheric nitrogen, making it valuable in crop rotation.
Pigeon Pea is also relatively drought-tolerant, so it fits well in rainfed and low-input farming systems.
Why Your Pigeon Pea Needs Phosphorus?
Root development
& nodulation
Phosphorus promotes strong root growth and enhances Rhizobium activity, which is essential for effective Nitrogen fixation.
Energy transfer
& early growth
It plays a crucial role in ATP formation, supporting early plant vigor and better establishment.
Flowering &
pod formation
Adequate Phosphorus improves flowering, pod setting, and seed development, leading to higher yield.
